Overview
In the Andean category, Kosta5 offers
you the “must” of all the tours in the Bolivian
Andes. This circuit has been created for those who are
passionate for the mountains with a good experience
and a good few years of mountains in their legs! The
tour begins with some Andean treks which allows for
acclimatizing to the altitude before tempting the climb
to the summits which are accounted as being the most
beautiful and highest in the Cordillera des Andes. The
highlight being, the attempt to climb the Sajama, the
highest summit in Bolivia.
A good experience of mountains combined with an outstanding
physical condition is the key to achieving this challenging
yet breathtaking tour in the Andes.
Terrain:
La Paz and its surroundings:
The capital of Bolivia, situated at an altitude between
3700m and 4000m, this capital is the highest on the
planet….astounding!!! The cultural mix of this
city is the richest. There is no comparison with anywhere
else. What’s more, the cities surroundings hold
many more amazing surprises.
Copacabana and the Ile du Soleil:
It is the region of Lake Titicaca, on of the highest
lakes in the world. This is an incredible region with
an outstanding history. On the island you can hear all
the legends from all around this area.
Illimani: Illimani,
the mountain symbolizing the city La Paz!!! We can only
enjoy the immenseness of this vast mountain, you can
discover the length, the width and before all, the height.
The area the most magical, yet peaceful.
Sajama National Park:
This Bolivian National Park is a place conserved offering
an unimaginable countryside and various activities in
this volcanic region. This area is the most famous in
Bolivia for all its legends, all of which being spoken
about by the local population. It is here within this
park where the “Parinacota” and the “Sajama”
are situated. The latter being the highest summit in
Bolivia, reaching 6542m!!!!
Accommodations
For this trek, we have selected lodgings
very close by to our expeditions in order to make this
week particularly well organized, without having to
worry about long displacements everyday. Apart from
your first night in Bolivia, one or two during the trip
in the city La Paz and the final night of your trip
being spent in the hotel, all the other nights will
be spent in various isolated places in the nature. Nights
spent at the locals, who offer a basic comfort, nevertheless
largely humbled by the good atmosphere offered by the
locals. And, of course, bivouac during the climbs and
expeditions.

from the internet site)
- Extra meals (between 3 and 8 US$/person/meal)

- Airport tax (25US$/person)
Important: By measure of precaution,
each traveler must have photocopies of his or her passport
and insurance documents (imperative, to leave at La
Paz on your arrival).
The programme can be subject to minor modification
in function to flight arrival and departure times, or
to weather conditions.
