Overview
Vancouver is the largest city
in the province of British Columbia. It's surrounded
by water on three sides and is nestled alongside
the Coast Mountain Range. Vancouver is
home to spectacular natural scenery and a bustling
metropolitan core, and boasts one of the mildest
climates in Canada. The Vancouver region
is home to more than two million people in 21
municipalities, making it the third largest metropolitan
area in Canada. During your stay you will have
ample time to explore the area after your time
on the mountain. We can arrange to visit certain
areas depending on the group’s interests.
Your guide has spent time in the area and highly
recommends a stroll through Stanley Park and its
giant cedars and a visit to the Granville Island
market for some great food and crafts.
In the evening you will have
many choices if you'd like to get out. The late-night
scene in Vancouver is a thriving mix of ultra-hip
lounges, laid-back pubs and energetic live music
venues. There's also plenty of fun in dance clubs
and other late-night venues to keep night owls
entertained until the wee hours. Live music is
never hard to find in Vancouver. Local bands are
frequent at clubs and venues in Gastown and the
West End, Denman Street is highly recommended
for more late-night fun and people watching.

The venues for the Vancouver
2010 Olympic and Paralympics Winter Games
stretch over a 120-kilometre zone from the shores
of Richmond, just south of Vancouver, through
Vancouver’s downtown centre north to the
snowy peaks of the mountain resort of Whistler.
Our tour will give you a sneak peak of
the areas and resorts that will be used for the
games.
Terrain
We're not sure if any explanation
is necessary, the legend of Whistler speaks for
itself (it will be epic!!), but if you need a
refresher here it is: Something magical happens
when you arrive at the summit of the small valley
that contains the ski resort village of
Whistler Blackcomb, in the Coast Mountain
Range north of Vancouver, British Columbia. It’s
recognized as the Top Ski Resort in North America
for the past 6 years and host to many events of
the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The resort
consists of two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb,
rising up a mile out of the valley (1,609 m/ 5,280
ft) and accessing nearly 8,000 acres of prime
mountain terrain - including 12 alpine bowls,
three glaciers and more than 200 marked trails.
Thirty three state-of the-art lifts deliver an
hourly lift capacity of 59,000 skiers to a skiable
terrain covering 2,863 hectares (7,071 acres)
- highest lift accessed elevation 2,284 m (7,494
ft). Difficulty: Whistler- Novice 20% Intermediate
55% Advanced 25% Blackcomb 15% 55% 30%.
